Herbert Heidenreich

Herbert Heidenreich (* November 15, 1954 ) is a former German football player.

Career

Heidenreich began his career at SpVgg Bayreuth in the 2nd Bundesliga. In his first two years, he came to an impressive 58 missions, a sophomore, he scored 14 goals in 37 games. Due to its good performance Borussia Mönchengladbach became aware of him.

He moved in 1976 to Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. Again, he played regularly. His first league game, he completed on August 14, 1976 against MSV Duisburg. It was 20 times in the Bundesliga, once used in the DFB Cup four times and the European Cup of Champions, including the semi-finals in 1977 against Dynamo Kiev. This year, the Borussia reached the final, but this was lost. Also in 1977 Heidenreich became German champion with Gladbach.

After five more missions in the league and two in the DFB Cup in season 1977/78 he moved in October to Tennis Borussia Berlin in the 2nd Bundesliga Nord. Within a year it went back to the Bundesliga for 1.FC Nürnberg with which he, however, in 1979 descended into the 2nd league. After a year, however, things went back to the excellence.

For the Nuremberg he played eleven times in the DFB Cup (6 goals), including the final in 1982 against Bayern Munich, the Nuremberg but lost 4-2.

In total, he played 162 times in the Champions League ( 15 goals) and 115 times in the second league (32 goals).

Today Heidenreich lives with his wife Angelika and his three daughters in Nuremberg.

After 15 years as coach of FSV Bad Windsheim he trains since 2010 the district division TV Büchenbach.
