Herbert Klein (swimmer)

Herbert Klein ( born March 25, 1923 in Breslau, † 25 September 2001 in Munich) was a German swimmer.

Herbert Klein in 1950, European champion in the 200 m breaststroke and swam in his career three world records and 21 German records. At the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, the swimmers took from VfVS Munich on his parade route the bronze medal behind John Davies and Bowen Stassforth. Four years later in Melbourne he was disqualified on the same route. Klein was elected to the 1950 German Sportsman of the Year.
