Herbert Plaxton

Herbert Alfred Wellington Plaxton ( born April 22, 1901 in Barrie, Ontario, † November 7, 1970 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team. His brother Hugh and his cousin Roger were also 1928 Olympic champion in ice hockey.

Career

For Canada Herbert Plaxton took part in the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 in St. Moritz, where he won the gold medal with his team. Together with his cousin Roger, he was in contrast to the majority of the Olympic team not the Toronto Varsity degree of who had won the 1927 Allan Cup, but his brother Hugh was able to convince the coach Conn Smythe of the qualities of the two. During the tournament Herbert Plaxton completed two games and scored two goals in a 14-0 victory over Great Britain. After end of his career as a hockey player Plaxton worked as a lawyer.
