Herbert Rosenfeld

Herbert Alexander Rosenfeld ( born July 2, 1910 in Nuremberg, † November 29, 1986 in London ) was a German psychiatrist and psychoanalyst of Kleinian direction and a champion of the psychoanalytic psychosis treatment.

Herbert Rosenfeld was interested since his early youth in psychology and the human sciences. Although his father wanted him to succeed in the family business, he decided to study medicine, which he studied at various German universities in Munich and graduated in 1934 with a thesis on multiple absence seizures in childhood. Due to the Nuremberg Laws he was not allowed to treat Aryan patients. Thus, he emigrated in 1935 to England.
