Herjulf BÃ¥rdsson

He first lived in Iceland on Drepstokki. He was the son of Bárðr Herjolfsson and married to Þorgerðr. His son Bjarni Herjulfsson was the first European to 986 the American continent sighted after he was blown off course.

According to the Icelandic land grabbing book, his family moved to the Herjólfsfjörðr located on the south of the peninsula Brattahlið Herjólfsnes, today Ikigait (south of Nanortalik ).
