Herl

Herl ( Moselle Franconian: Herdel [ hɛɐdəl ] ) is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Ruwer. Herl is a nationally recognized tourist destination.

Geography

Herl is approximately 13 kilometers east of Trier, close to the national highway 52 (exit Osburg - Neuhaus). Geographically, the municipality can assign the Osburger Hunsrück.

History

The place is mentioned as Erlon's in the land register of the abbey of St. Maximin in Trier in 1200 for the first time.
