The Herlev Eagles are a Danish ice hockey team from Herlev, a suburb of the capital, Copenhagen, the highest since 2011 back in the Danish league, AL -Bank Ligaen, plays.

History

The original club was founded in 1970 as IK Herlev, 1993, he was a start-up and the spin-off of the first team at the Herlev Eagles, whose surname was eventually changed to Hornets in 2005.

The team has been a time - in 1984 - Danish Champion. 1982, 1997 and 1999 the club won the championship of the second class first division.

Prior to the 2009/10 season the Hornets take part in the AL-Bank Ligaen was denied due to lack of sponsorship revenue. Then the matches in the first division and the newcomers continued. During this time the nickname of the first team was again changed in Eagles while the original club continued playing under the nickname Hornets.

Prior to the 2011/12 season the club took part in the re- licensing for the AL-Bank Ligaen and won the game license. For the first season after the resurgence Jesper Duus and Frederik Storm were, among others, Kim Staal, obliged.
