Herman Finkers

Hermenegildus Felix Victor Maria ( Herman) Finkers ( born December 9, 1954 in Almelo ) is one of the best known Dutch comedian of the 1980s and 1990s, which still stands on the stage today. He comes from the east of the country, the Twente region, and presents a timeless, dry humor in shows with imaginative stage elements.

Life and Art

Finkers visited in Almelo grammar school and studied in Groningen, where his brother Wilfried had founded a student humor Association. There Herman Finkers played his first program.

The former altar boy has remained faithful to his church and region. For his wedding he has a traditional exhibition composed. He takes care of a small chapel for whose preservation makes it strong since 2006 in an initiative he co-founded.

2000 Finkers heard as a comedian, because he lacked the inspiration. Shortly after he learned of his leukemia. In 2007 he came back on with a new program, Na de pauze ( German: " After the break ").

The word playful Finkers usually plays a modest, slightly awkward, quiet and happy bachelors. He speaks no dialect, but with distinct regional coloring. At its programs his brother is often involved, behind and on stage. Some times has collaborated with Brigitte Kaandorp Finkers; a comic singing duo of the two titled Duet reached 1990, the Dutch charts. 2003 Finkers was beaten by the Netherlands Lion Knight of the Order.

In addition, the writer Finkers deals with the dialect of his home, the Twents, and translated for the soap opera Van Jonge Leu en Oale Groond the dialogues.
