Herman Hugo

Herman Hugo ( born May 9, 1588 Brussels, † September 11, 1629 in Rheinberg ) was a Belgian Jesuit.

He published in 1627 his work Pia desideria (Antwerp 1624), which was the most widespread works of the baroque emblems. It was crucial for the famous title of Philipp Jacob Spener, Pia desideria ( 1635-1705 ).
