Herman Krebbers

Herman Krebber ( born June 18, 1923 in Hengelo ) is a Dutch violinist and sought after violin teacher.

Life and work

Herman Krebber studied in Amsterdam with Oskar Back ( 1879-1963 ). 1943, the 19 -year-old made ​​his debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, whose leader, he was in 1962. In parallel, he began a brilliant career as a soloist and chamber musician. After an accident in 1979, he had to limit his solo career.

As a teacher of master classes at the Conservatory of Amsterdam he gained worldwide recognition and trained many well-known violinists, including Frank Peter Zimmermann, Jeanne Lamon, Sophia Jaffé, Vera Beths, Emmy Verhey and Rudolf Koelman. André Rieu has also attended master classes with Krebber. 2009 ended Herman Krebber officially his musical career and transferred his private archive to the luthier André van Putten, with whom he had a long-standing friendship.
