The Herman Vanderpoortenstadion is the home stadium of the football club Lierse SK in the Flemish town of Lier, Antwerp Province. It is nicknamed " Het Lisp ' and is located close to the Kleine Nete river.

History

Since 1925, the Lierse SK plays in Vanderpoortenstadion. The venue is named after the Belgian politician Herman Vanderpoorten; who died in September 1984. Today, the stadium holds 14,538 spaces available for visitors. There are 10,227 covered seats and 4,311 standing places uncovered. In addition, the sports venue with three lodges, 102 VIP seats and 522 business seats is equipped. In the last renovated in 2009, this complex are 56 jobs for journalists and reporters ready. After the renovation, there are plans to demolish the three older stands and replace; but a timetable for it is not certain.
