Hermann Buse

Hermann Buse ( born February 27, 1907 in Berlin, † January 1, 1945 in Bremen ) was a German racing cyclist in the 1930s.

Cycling career

Hermann Buse was a professional cyclist from 1928 to 1936 1930., He as a driver of the team of Duerkopp overall winner of the Germany tour, ahead of his compatriot Kurt Stöpel was. In the same year he won at Liège -Bastogne -Liège; In 1932 he was in this race again fourth. Buse is so far the only German, the next Dietrich Thurau (1979 ) achieved a victory at this classic.

Buse 1932 won the Giro d'Italia, the second stage from Vicenza to Udine and was for five days the pink jersey and thus the first non- Italian who wore this in 1931 introduced the leader's jersey; in the overall standings he was 16th after him Gregor Brown could only conquer as German starter the pink jersey for a day back in 1981.
