Hermann Gassner

Hermann Gassner junior ( born November 29, 1988 in Bad Reichenhall ) is a German rally driver. He is the son of multiple German rally champion Hermann Gassner senior.

Career

Hermann Gassner junior began in 2006 at the age of 17 years in advance in car rallies. In 2007, he began his career as a rally driver in his father's team and co-driver Catherine Wüstenhagen. He drove a Suzuki Ignis Sport Suzuki Rallye Cup, which was held in the framework of the German Rally Championship, and won the Suzuki Ignis - rating. In the overall standings the German Rally Championship, he finished the season in seventh place. 2008 Gassner took various Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Group N in the German Rally Championship. He achieved a fourth place as the best individual result and finished the season in fourth championship course. He also finished second in the Mitropa Rally Cup behind his father.

Also in the 2009 season Gassner was in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX at the start. At the season opener of the German Rally Championship, the Bayern Rallye Oberland, he scored his first victory DRM. It was followed by three more victories in the Hessen- Rallye Vogelsberg, the Saarland Rally and the Lausitz Rally. By the end of the season he had accumulated the most points and so was German Rally Champion. He also won the Mitropa Rally Cup and won with the Jews Burg- Pölstal rally his first victory in the Austrian Championship. Gassner also came to some inserts in the World Rally Championship and achieved a PWRC point in the Rally of Great Britain.

2010 Gassner has been included in the Red Bull team Raimund Baumschlager. He graduated in Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX six rallies in the Championship. At the Rally Germany he went up to fourth place in the PWRC standings. 2011 Gassner is a Skoda Fabia S2000 in the SWRC to the start. At his first rally with the new vehicle, the Jordan Rally, he reached the third place in the SWRC standings. With the launch in the Mecsek Rallye, he made his debut in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, where he obtained fifth place.
