Hermann Graedener

Hermann Graedener ( born May 8, 1844 in Kiel, † September 18, 1929 in Vienna ) was a German - Austrian composer.

Graedener was trained by his father, the composer Karl Graedener. Since 1862 he was organist at the Lutheran parish church in Vienna, since 1864, violinist of the court orchestra. From 1877 to 1913 he taught music theory at the Conservatory. Between 1892 and 1896 he also served as conductor of the Vienna Academy of Music.

He composed two symphonies, a comedy overture two piano and two violin concertos, a cello concerto, chamber music, piano pieces and songs.

In 1960 in Vienna Floridsdorf ( 21st district ) was named after him and the Grädenergasse 2003 Graedenerweg.
