Hermann Hauser, Sr.

Hermann Hauser I (* 1882, † 1952) was a South German luthier.

He worked in Munich, where his son ( Hermann Hauser II) and his grandson ( Hermann Hauser III ) began the succession. His own style was Hermann Hauser I, by this he took the civil engineering of Antonio de Torres; the Torre design was further developed by him.

Dr. Karl Huber wrote this: " ... to thank Finally, and mainly but it is the coincidence of the Spanish virtuoso Llobet and Segovia with the Munich luthier Hermann Hauser ( I) that the Torres guitar become the prototype of today's construction of the Classical Guitar could. From 1937 Andrés Segovia joined by a Ramirez to a Hauser guitar. The Hermann Hauser I guitar that played Andres Segovia 1937-1970 is now on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Hermann Hauser III, born 1958, lives and works in the Lower Bavarian village of rice creek. In 2005, Hermann Hauser III together with the Munich guitarist Klaus Wolfgang Wildner the Foundation Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation.
