Hermann Picha

Karl Hermann August Picher ( born March 20, 1865 in Berlin, † June 7, 1936 in Berlin) was a German actor.

Life

Hermann Picha made ​​his theater debut in 1885 in Jawor and then played in Detmold, Heilbronn and Hamburg. In 1890 he was engaged at the Bellevue Theatre in Szczecin, where he remained for 15 years.

In 1905 he was engaged by the Berliner Theater in Berlin. In addition, he later worked on other stages in Berlin, including the Grand Theatre, the comedy House and German artists house.

In 1914 he got his first film role, and Picha became one of the most sought Supporting Actor in German silent film. He embodied grumpy, cranky types on the sidelines. Only in exceptional cases he has starred as 1920, the figure of the Schneider Wibbel in the eponymous film and 1926 the shoemaker Wilhelm Voigt in The Captain from Köpenick. Picha is buried in the municipal cemetery Eythstraße II in Berlin- Schöneberg.
