The 567 m above sea level. NHN high Hermann Koppe is the highest mountain in the Hessian part of the Spessart near the Bavarian Schanz. Only 100 meters to the east of the summit is the boundary between Bavaria and Hesse. The mountain was deforested in January 2007 by the hurricane Kyrill partially and lies just west of the highway between Lohrhaupten (Hessen) and Ruppertshütten (Bayern ), near the old Birkenhainer road. In its vicinity there is a Friedwald. To the south lies the Oak Mountain, between the Lohrberg (537 m), to the east lay the monastery Einsiedel.
