Ermenrich (also Hermerich, Hermanarici, Spanish and port. Hermerico; * 360, † 441 ) was the first king of the Suevi in the territory of the former Roman province of Gallaecia, which lay in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. He reigned in the period from 409 to 438

He is said to come from Moravia and Upper Hungary / Danube, crossed the Rhine 406 (see Rhine crossing of 406 ) and devastated Gaul. Under his rule, the Suevi in 409 settled in Galicia and founded the kingdom of the Suevi 411. He was incapable of governing since 438 due to illness.

Ermenrich was the father of King Rechila the Suevi ( Quadi ) (* 400, † August 448 ) and Prince Hunimund ( Danube Suevi ) " Filius Hermanarici " (c. 395; † after 469 in " Suavia "). Rechila conquered Baetica and Seville.
