Hermit kingdom

Hermit Kingdom is the derogatory term for a country or a society that actually or figuratively from the outside world sequesters himself. Korea was often referred to during the last phase of the Joseon Dynasty as a hermit kingdom.

Today, the term frequently applied to North Korea. But countries such as Bhutan, Oman, Yemen and the Kingdom of Tibet are due to the reluctance of their governments to enter into a dialogue with other countries, has been designated as a hermit kingdoms.
