Hernán Alvarado Solano

Hernán Alvarado Solano ( born January 26, 1946 in Santafe de Bogota, † January 31, 2011 in Bogotá ) was a Colombian priest and Vicar Apostolic of Guapi.

Life

Hernán Alvarado Solano studied after graduating from the minor seminary in Zipaquirá, philosophy at the seminary in Ibagué and theology at the Seminary of Bogotá. He received on December 4, 1971 and was ordained priest incardinated in the Diocese of Zipaquirá. At the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, he studied communications.

He was appointed by Pope John Paul II, titular bishop of Tubunae in Mauretania and appointed Vicar Apostolic of the Vicariate Apostolic Guapi southwest of Bogotá in 2001. The episcopal consecration on March 24, 2001 gave him the Bishop of Zipaquirá, Jorge Enrique Jiménez Carvajal CIM; Archbishop Beniamino Stella were co-consecrators, Apostolic Nuncio to Colombia, and Daniel Caro Borda, Auxiliary Bishop of Bogotá.
