Herndon is a town in Fairfax County in the U.S. state of Virginia and is about 35 km west of Washington, DC., The city with 23292 inhabitants ( 2010), 44.größte commune in Virginia. However, because of particular administrative structures it is the largest so-called Incorporated Town of the county.

History

The city was founded in 1858 and named in honor of Commander William Lewis Herndon.

Geography

Herndon is located directly east of the airport Washington Dulles International.

Economy

Being close to the airport here some technology companies such as Network Solutions or XO Communications have settled.
