Herol Graham

Herol Graham ( born May 13, 1959 in Nottingham, England ) is a retired British boxer.

Amateur

1976, the southpaw was junior welterweight champion against John Mugabi. In 1977 he was second in the British Championships, in 1978, he won the light middleweight.

Professional

He then turned professional under the famous coach Brendon Ingle ( also coached Naseem Hamed ) and was finally recognized with a knockout over a now 34 - jährigten Ayub Kalule in a European Championship fight as a world class player in the middleweight division. His fight name " Bomber" but was totally inappropriate, he was a counter- boxer with rather average Punch, joined a so-called " Switchhitter " sometimes the display. He had already signed the contract with Iran Barkley for the World Cup, when he was struck by sensational Sumbu Kalambay.

Only in 1989 he was able to reach a World Cup battle and defeated Mike McCallum ( who had also based his only defeat against Kalambay ) just on points.

In 1990, he challenged Julian Jackson, dominated him for three rounds long as desired before he really wanted to achieve a knockout, wild aggression and purely ran into one of the most famous KOs of all time. As Jackson's right hook on his chin struck he was already standing KO and fell as if struck by lightning around.

A rematch against Kalambay he lost according to judges in Italy, the result was evaluated in England as a scandal, the next fight he lost, however, against his compatriot Grant limited by KO and heard initially on.

With a comeback in the Super Middleweight in 1996/97, he knocked out the Canadian Olympian Chris Johnson and beat Vinnie Pazeienza on points. In a title bout against Charles Brewer, he scored two rainfall and led on points before Brewer succeeded in the tenth round of the knockout victory. Now he stopped permanently.
