Herrera Province

Herrera is a province in Panama, which is named after the former General Tomás Herrera.

Founded in the province was from parts of the province of Los Santos, on 18 January 1915. The capital city of Herrera is Chitre, which lies about seven miles inland from the Gulf of Panama.

The main economic factors in Herrera are the cultivation of sugar cane and dairy and cattle industry but also industry and trade. The 8,000 -acre Sarigua National Park is also located in Herrera.
