The Hers - Mort ( also called simply Hers ) is a river in France, which runs into the regions of Languedoc -Roussillon and Midi -Pyrenees. It rises in the landscape Lauragais, in the municipality of LAURAC and drains generally in a northwesterly direction. In Villefranche -de- Lauragais he passes under the Autoroute des Deux Mers and the Canal du Midi, this follows in a largely straightened course and draws a line through the suburbs north and east of Toulouse. The river empties after 90 kilometers at Grenade, following another tunnel under the highway, and the Lateral Canal à la Garonne, as a right tributary of the Garonne. On his way to the Hers - Mort crosses the Aude and Haute -Garonne.
