Hershey is a census -designated place (CDP ) within the Derry Township in Dauphin County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The city with (2000 ) 12,771 inhabitants located about 20 km east of Harrisburg.

Hershey is named after its founder, Milton S. Hershey, who built a settlement for its workers next to his factory for the production of chocolate. Even today, the Hershey Company is resident in the place. Hershey is therefore also called "Chocolate Town, USA".

The Hershey Company also operates its own amusement park, Hersheypark. With over 11 roller coasters and a water park he is one of the top attractions of the area.
