Herwig Kircher

Herwig Kircher ( born March 18, 1955 in Villach ) is a retired Austrian football player.

Career

Herwig Kircher began his career with the Carinthian Provincial Liga club SV meeting as a striker, later withdrew into midfield and was brought in 1972 by Günter Praschak for SK VÖEST Linz in the National League. In the " Kokslern " Herwig Kircher could already be in 1973/74 Austrian champion and also make the leap into the Austrian national team. He made his debut in a 1-0 victory against Hungary under Leopold Šťastný on 28 September 1974. After six seasons in Linz, at the end of Herwig Kircher nor the OFB Cup final in 1978 reached, but there the SSW Innsbruck subject, joined the Carinthian to SV Austria Salzburg.

After only one year at the Mozart city dwellers Herwig Kircher took in 1979 at an offer from the French Division 1 and went for two years to Stade Lavallois. Back in Austria, the midfielder played 1981/82 for the SSW Innsbruck, with which he came to the OFB Cup final, before he went back to Carinthia. First, the SK Austria Klagenfurt in the 1st Division, moved Herwig Kircher in 1984 for SV Spittal / Drau in the 2nd Division, with whom he traveled in the club's history in the first division rose. Ultimately, it was also Spittal, his sixth first division club, in which the former national player ended his professional career.
