Hesham Qandil

Hescham Mohammed Kandil (Arabic هشام قنديل, DMG Hisham Qandil, born September 17, 1962) is an engineer and former Prime Minister of Egypt.

Studies and career

Kandil has studied at Cairo University and earned a degree in 1984 Bachelor of Engineering. From 1988 to 1993 he studied in the United States and made the 1988 Masters in Water Management at the University of Utah and his doctorate in 1993 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to the Ph.D. Agricultural technology and biotechnology. In 1995 he returned to Egypt and is in the civil service at the National Water Research Centre ( NWRC ), the technical department of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Management ( MED) and the Tourism Development Authority ( TDA), works. From 1999 to 2005 was office manager for the minister of water resources. From 2004 to early 2011 he was in Tunis ( Tunisia) head of water resources at the African Development Bank ( AfDB)

Political career

After the revolution in Egypt in 2011 Kandil is appointed to the agreed upon with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Sharaf Cabinet and appointed on 21 July 2011 as the Minister for water resources and irrigation. Following the Government he held from 7 December 2011, from his office in the Second Cabinet El- Ganzuri. On 24 July 2012, he was appointed as a more conservative "independent " of President Mohammed Mursi ( FGP ) in the Office of the Prime Minister and was on August 2, 2012 Prime Minister and his Cabinet stood before Kandil. On January 6, 2013 he undertook a government reshuffle and ten ministerial posts were reassigned.
