Hesperange

Hesperingen ( Hesper Luxembourgish, French Hesperange ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton of Luxembourg.

Hesperingen borders in the southwest directly to the capital city of Luxembourg, to the community Contern in the east, to the commune of Roeser in the south and to the community Weiler- la-Tour. The municipality is composed of the place Hesperingen and a comparatively large industrial and commercial zone, which contributes significantly to Hesperingen one of the richest communities of Luxembourg. Other villages in the municipality are Hesperingen Alzingen Fentange, Izzy, and Howald.

Attractions

In Hesperingen a relatively well- preserved ruin that has been placed on the supplementary list of estimable building in the country since 1984, is located. The castle was probably built in the first half of the 13th century by the Lords of Roden makers, in 1480 and 1482 for treason looped, partially rebuilt, leased and occupied in 1679 by order of Louis XIV. Another destruction this year has not been established. 1798, the castle by the French revolutionary troops as was "bien national" auctioned.

Through the whole community Hesperingen several walking paths and trails lead with diagrams and explanations of all the important parts of the community as well as historical backgrounds.
