Het Spectrum

Het Spectrum ( the spectrum ) is a Dutch book publisher. He was P.H. 1935 by the two booksellers Bogaard and A. H. Bloemsma founded. Originally with progressive- Catholic self-understanding ( an example of which is the author Gabriël Smit, who was the publisher connected for 25 years ) to Het Spectrum developed over the years into one of the Netherlands' largest book publishers with broad publishing program, which today prose, non-fiction, travel guide, cookbooks and other covers. In the early 1950s the brand "Prisma Pockets " was introduced to publish world literature in paperback format. In this series so far released about 3,000 titles. Today, Prism is a trademark of language textbooks and dictionaries, as well as appropriate educational software.

However, the most important and best-known product is the Winkler Prins encyclopedia, the most important Dutch language its kind Once a printed reference book, it is now the foundation of the Dutch-language Encarta edition.

Since 1999, Het Spectrum is part of the publishing group PCM Uitgevers.
