Hetepheres II.

Hetepheres II was a Queen of Ancient Egyptian 4th Dynasty. She was a daughter of Pharaoh Khufu, her mother is unknown. She was married at least twice. Her first husband was her (half - ) brother Kawab. From this marriage the sons Djedefmin, Kaemsechem and possibly Duaenhor and a daughter named Meresanch III went. forth.

After Kawabs death Hetepheres II married a king, who is generally identified with Radjedef. It is unclear whether they are still married another member of the royal family after his death. The vizier Anchhaf, an uncle or brother of Cheops, had a wife named Hetepheres which equated some with Hetepheres II, partially but only for a woman of the same name is kept.

Tomb

The final resting place of Hetepheres II is unknown. On the Eastern Cemetery of the Pyramid of Cheops was the Doppelmastaba G 7110 - 7120 Although originally intended for her and her first husband Kawab, due to his early death and the remarriage of his wife, he was, however, buried there alone.

The nearby mastaba G 7350, which was built at the end of the 4th dynasty, is partially regarded as the grave Hetepheres II, since reliefs were found, possibly showing her and her daughter.

Special finds

In the pyramid complex of the husband of Hetepheres II, the Pharaoh Radjedef, one dedicated to her Sphinx sculpture in Abu Roasch was found. It is probably the first Sphinx - representation of Egyptian history.
