Black Scorpion Laos in the Gulf of Thailand

The Black Scorpion Laos ( Heterometrus laoticus ) is a monochrome black, matt or shiny scorpion whose scissor hands are large and strong. He is one of about 15 cm of the largest scorpions. He lives in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia.

The Black Scorpion Laos preferred tropical wet and dry forests and their outlying areas. He also happens to wooded hills and slopes. He lives under fallen trees, under loose bark, in tree hollows, between roots and in fall foliage, using natural holes or burrows itself deep structures such as under rocks or tree roots.

The Black Scorpion Laos is one of the low poisonous scorpions whose sting hurts though, but no systemic effects caused (comparable to a bee sting ). He is one of the few scorpions that live in a group, but which only allow a male.
