Hetto

Hetti (* probably before 800; † May 27 847 ) was from 814 until his death Archbishop of Trier.

Life

The date of the ascent of the archbishop's chair after the death of Archbishop Amalharius Fortunatus is a document can only be assigned 814-816. Hetti comes from a noble family Austrasia. His sister was abbess Warentrud in Pfalzel. His nephew Grimald of White Castle was abbot of St. Gallen.

Before he became a bishop, he was abbot of Mettlach. In 816 he took part in the Synod of Aachen.
