Heukewalde

Heukewalde is a municipality in the southern part of the Thuringian district Altenburger Land. It belongs to the administrative community Upper Sprottental.

Geography

Geographical location

Heukewalde is counted for Ronneburger agricultural and mining area. The village is crossed from south to north of the Heukewalder sprat, which opens into the man ego Walder sprat between Vollmershain and Posterstein. The nearest towns are Ronneburg (7 km north-west ), Schmölln (9 km northeast) and Crimmitschau (9 km east).

Neighboring communities

Adjacent communities are Jonaswalde, Posterstein and Vollmershain in the district Altenburger Land and Rückersdorf and Paitzdorf district Greiz.

History

First mentioned is the place on 9 December 1152. The place represents a typical street village three and a half kilometers in length and can thus be seen as a German foundation. The village is characterized mainly by the typical Altenburger half-timbered houses. From 1826 to 1918 belonged to the Duchy Heukewalde Saxe-Altenburg, then to the Free State of Saxony -Altenburg, who then rose until 1 May 1920 in Thuringia. On 1 October 1922, the city came to the district of Gera, as the District Office Ronneburg aufteilte, belonged to the Heukewalde since 1 April 1900. 1952 Heukewalde went to the county Schmölln.

Parish council

Since the local elections of 7 June 2009, the council is composed as follows:

  • CDU: 2 seats (33.6% )
  • Independent: 2 seats ( 40.3 %)
  • Volunteer Fire Department: 2 seats ( 26.1%)

The turnout was 77.4 %.

Mayor

In the mayoral election in 1994 Wolfgang Lutz of the CDU in the first ballot received 88.5 % of the valid votes. He was confirmed with 86.9 % of the votes in the first ballot in office 1999. 2004, the independent Maik Piewak was elected with 80.5 % of the votes for mayor on the first ballot. In 2010, he sat down in the first round with 62.0 % of the vote again against the CDU candidates.

Culture and sights

The town center is a country inn is with pension, which maintains a community hall and a bowling alley. In the resort a total of four inns and several hiking trails exist to nearby attractions.

Economy and infrastructure

Heukewalde is connected via the county road K 502 with the neighboring towns and Nischwitz Posterstein. Another local link road leads to Jonaswalde. The municipality is located in the Central German transport network and is connected via the trains running on weekdays except Saturdays bus lines 355 Schmölln- Untschen - Thonhausen and 357 Schmölln- Selka - Weissbach - fire Rübel - Schönhaide - Thonhausen - Nischwitz the THÜSAC passenger transport company. The nearest train station is located in the north situated four kilometers Nöbdenitz.
