Heureka (Science Center)

Heureka is in Vantaa (Finland ) situated Science Center. It was when it opened in 1989, the only science center in Scandinavia and is still considered one of the most important science museums in Scandinavia.

Initial plans for a science center created in 1982, in 1984 the decision was made for Vantaa as where and when it was established in 1987 Tikkurila district with the construction started. The official opening of the museum finally took place on 28 April 1989. The futuristic building was designed by architects Mikko Heikkinen and Markku Komonen.

The Eureka contains a permanent exhibition on over 100 technical experiments to participate. It has a cinema with special effects and a planetarium. In the outer layers are exhibits on the geology of Finland and flower beds, the basis of which the classification of plants is illustrated by Carl Linnaeus.

Since its opening day on average, about 280,000 people per year, the museum, this number is partially subject to strong fluctuations ( 206000-421000 ).
