Heureux Anniversaire is a French short comedy film directed by Jean -Claude Carrière and Pierre Étaix from the year 1962.

Action

A couple wants to celebrate his wedding anniversary. The wife has prepared a meal and hiding a small gift under the napkin of the man. This, meanwhile, tries to get home. First, his car is parked. The owner of the front car, which was just foamed at the barber for a shave, continues his car, only to find that after his return his parking lot was already occupied by another car. He drives in sequence so long around the block, to the hairdresser closes the evening. The husband is meanwhile in traffic, but eventually finds a parking space to quickly buy a bottle of champagne. After his return, he is parked again and takes a while to get into his car. He later buys flowers and holds necessarily at a taxi stand, but finds on his return a guest in the car who likes wants to be driven by taxi. The man throws him and his suitcase out of the car, but also demolished his bouquet. After renewed buying flowers, additional storage and large time delay, the man reached his apartment. His wife has now eaten alone, drinking alcohol and sleeping all their noise from. The man discovered his gift and puts it on. It cuts down a leftover rolls on, puts some salami on and bites with resignation in his food.

Production

Heureux Anniversaire was shot in Paris. It was Pierre Étaix ' second short film. Like the first, Rupture, also Heureux Anniversaire rush hour was dedicated in Paris. The film was released in 1962 and ran in the same year, among others, on the Short Film Festival in Oberhausen.

Awards

Heureux Anniversaire 1963 " Best Short Film " won an Oscar in the category. In 1964 he was awarded a BAFTA in the category " Best Short Film ".
