Heuzert

Heuzert is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. The agriculturally structured residential community belongs to the municipality Hachenburg. Heuzert is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geographical location

The community of 320 m high lying lies in the Westerwald between Limburg and victories at the Great Nister in nature conservation and landscape protection area Kroppacher Switzerland. History

It probably originated as a clearing village in the 10th century; 1286 Heuzert was first mentioned in a document as Hutcenrothe. Remarkable for Heuzeroth is the number of former mills; also had the Abbey Marienstatt a courtyard. 1579 had Heuzert five and ten houses in 1793.

Culture and sights

Attractions include several preserved farmhouses of the 18th century and the Mariensätter yard. It is located in the northern local situation and was first mentioned in documents in 1500.
