Hexachrome

Hexachrome is a subtractive color mixing method in the printing industry, in which not only the CMYK colors still orange and green are used. This method was developed in order to increase the color space used. The base cyan, magenta, yellow and black were changed.

Because of the development was the desire to push the boundaries of classical four-color printing. The increased color gamut is only visible in print, on normal computer screens Hexachrome can not be displayed.

The patent holder, the company Pantone, has developed a process in which not only a much better color display for photos of the printing of spot colors without the use of real special colors is possible.
