Hey Monday
Hey Monday is an American alternative band from West Palm Beach in Florida. The band consists of Cassadee Pope ( vocals), Michael " Jersey" Moriarty ( bass), Mike Gentile ( guitar), Alex Lipshaw (rhythm guitar), Elliot James (drums) and Bobby Nolan (keyboard). Led by Cassadee Pope, Hey Monday mixed their emo -pop with alternative rock guitars and thus creates its own unique style. Their debut album, Hold On Tight appeared in October 2008 in collaboration with Columbia Records and Pete Wentz 's label, Decaydance.
History
The band formed in West Palm Beach, where Cassadee Pope was discovered at a regional music conference. Although they still went to the high school, was the singer because her voice attention of A & R. Then she and Jersey Moriarty Elliot James, Mike Gentile and Alex Lipshaw the band Blake. After they had changed their name to Hey Monday, the band signed a contract with Columbia Records. After that they went with S * A * M & Sluggo, who had also produced albums by Metro Station and already The Academy Is ..., into the studio, where they prepared for the release of their debut album. The album Hold On Tight was released on 7 October 2008. The following year she supported the band Fall Out Boy at national and international tours, making their popularity grew and she started her first tour.
On 17 August 2010, the band released the EP "Beneath It All". The sales of the EP surpassed all expectations, the EP got on the Billboard 200 at number 25, in the top alternative charts reaching number 5 a. Shortly thereafter, Jersey Moriarty left the band because he did not get along with his life as a musician. In autumn 2010, Hey Monday released a free digital EP called " Hey Monday - The MySpace Transmissions " via Myspace, which included five acoustic songs. On 8 February 2011 appeared on the iTunes EP " Candles ", which includes an old acoustic demo version of the song of the same name, a remix of it, as well as a new song. The music video to was published on March 9, 2011. In December 2011, the band announced that it has decided to take a break.
Cassadee Pope began a solo career in 2012 and participated in the talent show, The Voice and this year won the competition.
