The Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport ( IATA code GYD, ICAO code UBBB, Azerbaijani Heydər Əliyev Adina beynəlxalq hava Limanı ) is located 15 kilometers east of the capital Baku a major international commercial airport in Azerbaijan.
The airport is the hub for the state-owned company Azerbaijan Airlines. The buildings were extensively renovated in 1998 and 1999 with a total investment of 19 million U.S. dollars.
The airport has two runways and two terminals.
He was named after the former President of Azerbaijan, Heydər Əliyev, renamed in 2004.
