HGC (field hockey)

The HOC gazelles Combinatie, short HGC, is an association founded on September 22, 1906 Hockey Association from Wassenaar in the Netherlands. The club was formed by a merger of the two clubs HOC and gazelles. With its 912 members, the club is one of the major hockey clubs in the The Hague region. Local competitors are the Haagsche Delftsche Mix ( HDM), the HC Klein Zwitserland and the smaller HDS.

Both the ladies and the gentlemen played for years in the highest Dutch field hockey league, the Hoofdklasse, but got the ladies in the 2005 subprime Overgang class. The last national championship titles won the masters in 1996 under her coach Maurits Hendriks in the final play-offs against the HC Bloemendaal, the HGC competing against the well in the 2006-2007 season again in the playoffs, but after two defeats ( 2:3, 1:2 ) had to come to terms with the runner-up, but the right to participate in the newly created euro Hockey League. The women's team came a year later in 1997 the last title.

The investment of the HGC is located in the sports complex De Roggewoning on Buurtweg in Wassenaar, where there is a water- blasted artificial grass and two sandverfüllte artificial grass courts.
