High Peak, Derbyshire

High Peak is an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Derbyshire in England. Administrative center is the city of Chapel- en-le -Frith; significant sights are Buxton, Furness Vale, Glossop, Horwich, New Mills, Tintwistle, Brough and Shatton and Whaley Bridge.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough Buxton and the Urban Districts New Mills and Whaley Bridge. From the county of Cheshire Rural District of Tintwistle was added.
