High School of Glasgow

The High School of Glasgow is a privately funded higher school in Glasgow, Scotland. As a choir school of Glasgow Cathedral it has been approximately established in 1124, is the oldest school in Scotland and the zwölftälteste in the UK. It remained part of the Church as a school of the city until in 1872 came under municipal administration and was privatized in 1976. The school has an old relationship to the Cathedral, where a church and a harvest festival has been held annually in September. It is one of two British Prime Minister, two Presidents of the Court of Session and the founder of the University of Aberdeen to its alumni.

It is a selective school, that is, interested students must complete at the beginning of an entrance examination. About 1000 students aged 3 to 18 years attend school. The principal of the school is Mr. Colin Mair.
