Background of the internationally published album

The second high-voltage album was released in 1976 on the international market after AC / DC already celebrated some success in Australia. However, this album had a different cover. Moreover, it still contained, in addition to the two above-mentioned seven songs title of the second Australian longplayer TNT.

It's a Long Way to the Top is the description of the hard life of unknown rock musicians early 70s. A section of the piece is accompanied by Bon Scott on the bagpipes. It is very well known and is played among others at concerts of Metallica as a "pre - intro" before the actual Intro The Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone.

The song T.N.T. is now used by fans usually viewed as the image of the character of Bon Scott: explosive, dynamic and dangerous. It is also one of the most famous hard rock songs ever.

The title song is also one of the highlights in the work of AC / DC, the piece is played since the release in almost every live concert of the band.

Reception

The album got in the rock press mostly positive reviews. For example, in Rock Hard, where by author Götz Kühnemund the highest score was 10 awarded. He judged to in that magazine: "That in Australia one years previously under the title TNT and published under a slightly altered track listing album contains with It'sa Long Way to the Top ( If You Wanna Rock'n'Roll ), The Jack, Live Wire, TNT and High Voltage least five all-time classics, which for many years an integral part of the AC / DC live sets have been and are still partly. Even at this European debut came to light all trademarks of the band: Malcolm's powerful guitar chords, Angus ' improvised blues scales, absolutely impervious carpet of rhythm and of course Bon Scott's distinctive Reibeisengesang. Must have! "

The Australian version of the album reached in their country of publication 7th place The international version in the U.S. reached 146th place and was honored there today three times platinum for 3 million units sold. In the UK, the album was awarded a silver record.
