Highland (landform)
Highlands is a term for a landform.
After Meyers Lexicon of 1907 highland called " contrary to the lowlands or lowlands and plains, the mountainous country, and the high levels; also preferably larger, political or ethnographic separate tracts of land of considerable altitude (eg Savoy, Abyssinia ) or high-altitude broader parts of continents, such as the highlands of East Asia ".
