The Hildesheim Forest, near Hildesheim, in Lower Saxony, Hildesheim is one to 358.9 m above sea level. NHN high ridge of the Inner Uplands in Lower Saxony Bergland.

Geography

Location

Within the Inner Uplands is the Hildesheimer forest between the valleys of the west line, innermost in the north and in the east Lamme. The range of hills to the east bordering the Sauberge and a few kilometers west-southwest of the ridge Vorholz lies, extends south of Hildesheim, northwest of Bad Salzdetfurth, north of Sibbesse and southeast of Nordstemmen.

Geology

The Hildesheimer forest consists mainly of three layer ridges along the entire ridge. Its southern ridge is composed of limestone and marl, which was processed until after the Second World War in quarries, as Almstedt, mined economically and lime powder.
