Hilltop algorithm
The Hilltop algorithm ( Hilltop German " mountain peak " ) is a method ( for example, the World Wide Web ) with respect to sort a large amount of related documents according to relevance of search terms. In contrast to the PageRank algorithm ie the value of a document is not intended, but its connection to a particular search term.
History
The algorithm was developed by Krishna Bharat and George A. Mihaila at the University of Toronto. In 2003, Google acquired the patent.
