Hilst

Hilst is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Pirmasens country.

Geography

Hilst located in the southwest of the Palatinate Forest near the French border. 61.8 % of the district area is forested. Nearest large city is located northeast of Pirmasens.

The local council in Hilst consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman location.

The blazon of the arms is: " In gold, is under a red chevron green holly with red berries, a right green edge, is a left-wing golden crosier ."

The rafters comes originally the coat of arms of Hanau- Lichtenberg.

The flag is red and yellow quartered.

Economy and infrastructure

Hilst is accessed via minor roads. At the site over the L 478, which also leads to the nearest highway, the A 8 in the north runs.
