Hiltenfingen

Hiltenfingen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Augsburg and a member of the administrative community Langerringen.

Geography

Hiltenfingen is located about 30 kilometers south of Augsburg and about one kilometer southwest of the city Schwabmunchen at the Wertach on the western edge of the Lechfeld.

History

While archaeological finds point to a local establishment in the 8th or 9th century BC, Hiltenfingen is first mentioned around 1180 AD. The church exercised suzerainty going in 1280 to the secularization of the Commandery of the German Order of Knights after Blumenthal at Aichach. Although lying in the Swabian region, the place belonged to Deutschordensballei francs. Since 1805 the place belonged to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
