Hilti Foundation

The Hilti Foundation is a foundation of the Martin Hilti Family Trust. It is committed to projects in the cultural, social and scientific fields as well as in training. It focuses on a few selected areas. Chairman of the Board is Michael Hilti, who is also a member of the Board of Hilti AG.

Because of their cultural and scientific significance, the Hilti Foundation since 1996 supported expeditions of underwater archaeologist Franck Goddio. Before the Egyptian coast Goddio and his team have rediscovered in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Antiquities places like the ancient harbor of Alexandria with its royal quarters, the city of Herakleion and Canopus. In the South China Sea near the Philippines also Franck Goddio discovered several historically significant ships that were sunk centuries ago.
