Hines Ward ( born March 8, 1976 in Seoul, South Korea ) is a former American professional American football player at the position of wide receiver. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League ( NFL).

Hines Ward attended the University of Georgia and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1998. With the Steelers Ward won on 5 February 2006 Super Bowl XL, and was also named in this game as Super Bowl MVP.

On 1 February 2009, he won with the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals.

His father is African-American, his mother Korean. For some time he sits down in South Korea for children of mixed races one. Such people see themselves face discrimination if they do not contribute purely " Korean blood " in located in South Korea.

In May 2011, Ward won together with the professional dancer Kym Johnson, the American TV show "Dancing with the Stars."
